Complex dielectric permittivity of saline soils and rocks at frequencies from 10 kHz to 8 GHz

Results of measurements of the complex relative dielectric permittivity (CRP) of the samples with different particle and pore sizes, with different content of clay, moistened with a solution of NaCl of different concentration are given. It is shown that salinization does not always lead to an increase in the real part of CRP. This phenomenon is explained by the effect of salts on the orientational polarization of bound water molecules. It is shown also that influence of the relaxation process on CRP caused by the polarization of water-air interface in the salted samples sharply increases. As a result, at reduction of solution saturation to 40-80% from full saturation the real part of CRP increases in wide frequency band. The frequency band, in which the influence of this process on CRP reveals, depends on the particle sizes and concentration of solution.
