Power combining in THz band by quasi optical technique

Enhancing output power of THz source is a key problem of THz technology. A practical method to enhance output power of THz source is power combining techniques, which have widely used in microwave and millimeter wave bands. However, these methods may not be used in THz bands because of high loss and very difficult of manufacturing and so on. In this paper, quasi optical technique is proposed to implement power combining at THz band, which combine 8 beams into one beam so as the power of 8 beams are combined into one beam. The configuration of the power combining is described. The process of power combining is simulated and power combining efficiency is presented.
