Approach for fine-tuning of hybrid dimer nanoantennas via laser melting

Nowadays, hybrid nanophotonics became a powerful platform for modern light science, providing superior opportunities to control of light at the nanoscale. In this work, we present the results of theoretical investigations of fine-tuning of hybrid dimer nanoantennas (Au/Si) via fs-laser melting of the metal part. In order to get insight into the coupling effects of hybrid nanoantennas under different degree of fs-laser reshaping, we have performed a series of full-wave numerical simulations. We have demonstrated the modification of the scattering properties, the electric near-field distribution, the normalized local density of states of the nanoantennas upon reshaping of Au parts. The results of our work open up new possibilities to design novel highly tunable nanophotonic devices.
