Simulation on applying Gabor filtering method to direct laser absorption spectroscopy

Direct laser absorption spectroscopy plays an important role in trace gas monitoring for environment protection. The gas concentration can be calculated by integration of the measured absorption line. But the absorption signals often get distorted by noise, which reduces spectral signal-to-noise ratio(SNR). By applying Gabor filtering method to simulated absorption spectral signal, signal-to-noise ratios have been significantly improved, which is of great importance for gas concentration determination precision and stability. Taking the CO absorption signal near 6380.3cm
^-1
as an example, the results show that Gabor filtering method is a very useful de-noising tool for spectral noise reduction.
