The comparison of frequency domain method and time domain method in absorber reflectivity measurement

In this paper, it is presented that the reflectivity measurement comparison of the same absorber sample in frequency domain method and time domain method. In the frequency domain measurement, the arch method is used to measure the reflection signal of absorber sample and metal plate with the same dimension. The time-gate function of a Vector Network Analyzer(VNA) is needed for data processing. In the time domain measurement, a short pulse signal is used to separate the absorber reflection signal in accordance with the different arrival time. A reference reflection signal measurement method is proposed according to the principle of specular reflection other than metal plate reflection in this paper. Based on the measurement results comparison of the same sample in both methods, it can be seen that this time domain measurement method is feasible. However, it still needs be studied further in the future research.
