On microstrip parameter estimation, based on the design topology of the nonlinear transformation

The aim of this article is to promote an approach in characterizing of a microstrip guided propagation line. Inside a guided propagation environment of an electromagnetic wave, the potential of the electromagnetic field can be estimated using Laplace's equation applied to the electric potential. This potential satisfies the equation mentioned above and it can be easily determined if the electric field lines configuration is known. In the case of coaxial lines, characterized by circular symmetry, the second order differential equation, in polar coordinates has analytical solutions. Based on this symmetry and finding the distribution function for the electric potential inside a coaxial line, we can reach the spatial distribution of the electric and magnetic field intensity. Thus the specific line parameters are easy to find, and for the coaxial case the exact formula is known. The work extends this method for finding a calculation of parameters corresponding to microstrip guided line of electromagnetic wave propagation. An integrating method of the differential equation in terms of the electric potential, inside a guided line, with mathematical simplifications, allowed by a nonlinear rectangular-circular type transformation is highlighted. The way of calculation for the field's distributions, and for the characteristic parameters is presented. Given the large number of research articles proposed in this domain, with calculations and experimental diagrams included, the present work comes in addition with a original view.
