FPGA design approach of digital control of three-phase induction motor

This paper presents a simulation of a direct torque control (DTC) strategy, which is used to control induction motors. A specific methodology, using MATLAB/Simulink and DSP Builder simulations are presented. It summarizes the prior work before implementation the experimental FPGA control of an induction motor. This methodology allows one to verify the behavior of VHDL codes before their implementations, reducing the risks of significant changes when implemented. The results of the simulations are presented and analyzed in the work.
