Design and develop hands on cyber-security curriculum and laboratory

As high profile cyberattacks increase, such as the hacks on Sony Pictures Entertainment and Target, protecting public, government and business data has become an increasing critical and strategic priority. It's no surprise that the demand for the cybersecurity workforce is expected to rise to 6 million globally by 2019, with a project shortfall of 1.5 million, despite cybersecurity being one of the best financially compensated technology-related domains. As the demand for cybersecurity professionals grows, instructors must have the tools necessary to prepare the future cybersecurity workforce. Students learn best when they have hands-on experience. This paper provides a detailed account of designing and developing a hands on based cybersecurity project, which consists of penetration testing, defending an enterprise level network system and performing a comprehensive IT audit.
