A slot antenna backed by a half cylindrical cavity with a slit as a tuning element

A slot antenna backed by a half cylindrical cavity has been designed and measured which has a slit on the slot. The slit was for another way of impedance matching rather than a tuning stub line that was used in previous works. The antenna was designed for the operation frequency around 2.4 GHz. The effects of the slit on the reflection characteristics, -10 dB bandwidth and the center frequency, and the radiation pattern were analyzed. A prototype antenna using aluminum was fabricated and measured for the reflection characteristics.
