Implementation and analysis of various background subtraction techniques for IR target detection using different filters

In this paper, a comparison between different background subtraction techniques is done and the effect of different filters is also studied. We have taken an IR camera captured video, different techniques were implemented and applied on that video to detect the moving objects from it. Then the difference of outcome of various techniques is observed. Median and Morphological filters are applied to the results to reduce the noise effects. The experiments performed on IR images show that the Mixture of Gaussian with median filtering gives best results.
