Performance analysis of building CCHP based on a MINLP model for design and operation strategy

Combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) system is an effective solution to improve energy utilization efficiency and reduce emissions. This paper developed a multi-objective optimization model for CCHP system to evaluate its economic and environmental performances. The optimal capacity and operation strategy in two different scenarios were compared, and a ratio of feed-in tariff to electricity purchasing price was introduced to study the economic performances, which can help the government to make incentive policy on feed-in tariff to promote the development of CCHP system. Six assessment criteria were calculated and compared in different scenarios with various single-objectives. Furthermore, a pareto frontier was used to illustrate the multi-objective optimization. The results showed that the ratio of feed-in tariff to electricity purchasing price need to be at least greater than 0.5 in order to produce more benefits by utilizing CCHP system. Moreover, the weight coefficient of economic factor which is generally in the range of 0.6 to 1 had a significant influence on the capacity of prime mover and carbon dioxide emission of CCHP system.
