Multi-time simulation of electric taxicabs' charging demand based on residents' travel characteristics

A model based on OD(Origin-destination) matrix was proposed to predict the temporal-spatial distributions of electric taxicabs' charging demands. Firstly, combined with the taxicabs' business operation characteristics, the desired routes of passenger travel were generated and trans-location of taxicabs was simulated based on this model, respectively. Then, the spatial-temporal distribution characteristics of taxicabs' charging demands and state conversions of SOC were analyzed by contrast of the difference of initial positions, Soc states, travel speeds at different traffic conditions and charging windows. Finally, based on the Monte Carlo method, the temporal-spatial distributions of electric taxicabs' charging demands were predicted. Moreover, the realization of this method was illustrated by taking a city where electric taxicabs have been popularized as an example, and the distributions of charging demands for regional electric taxicabs on the all day time axis were also calculated. The results can provide strong support for the large-scale electrification of taxicabs and the distribution network planning for their charging facilities.
