A novel approach for railway distribution network voltage traveling wave extraction

Railway distribution network is the power supply for the railway station and signal equipment along the railway station, which is an important guarantee for the safe operation of the railway. In this paper, the transmission characteristics of traveling wave in railway distribution network are analyzed. Aiming at the problem of fault traveling wave extraction in railway distribution network, a novel method of extracting wave signal from transformer core wire and live display device is presented. The simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively extract the traveling wave head signal and can be used for traveling wave fault location. Based on this, a traveling wave positioning system for railway distribution network is studied. Experiments show that the system can effectively detect faults traveling wave signal to fault location.
