Investigation on RF energy harvesting

We are progressing in that era where wireless devices, sensor networks are going to be autonomous but with the restriction of use of the battery. RF energy harvesting has provided a ray of hope for the limited use of battery and preparing the future of healthy environment. The device called the Rectenna collects the ambient energy from environment through antenna and converts it into electrical form with the help of rectifier. This paper summarizes how the types of antenna and their characteristics and rectifier topologies shows impressive role in the rectenna design.
