An attenuated time measurement based on pulse interval for oscillating cup viscometer

Accurate time measurement is the key technique for oscillating cup viscometer. In order to overcome the error due to environmental noise, a direct counter of pulse time interval was selected to measure the attenuated time related to viscosity, and then viscosity values are thus calculated. A measurement circuit composed of laser signal acquisition, time interval synthesis and time interval measurement, was designed with modular structure and high reliability. The results showed that measurement error was less than 0.1 ms, which completely met the requirements of viscosity measurement in industrial production and scientific research field.
