Timing manipulation on ladder diagram to adjust the flexibility and speed of the beat on the robot gambang

Robot is a machine used to help human work that can work manually, semi automatic, or automatic. One of them, a robot in the arts. In the arts, robots that play music has developed from traditional music, to contemporary music or modern music. Robot Gambang player, is one of the robot application, from a combination of art and engineering. This robot has a function similar to the electric piano while the object that sounds is a traditional musical instrument of java (Gambang). In this research, constructed a robot percussion which play the Gambang with hardware (PLC), Software (LabVIEW), and mechanical form of percussion with actuator by pneumatic cylinder. By using the sequential Flip-Flop method on the PLC which is activated through the LabVIEW software that will drive the Double acting cylinder (ON-OFF). Timing flip flop manipulated to adjust the flexibility and speed of the beat. By using OPC server as communication between LabVIEW with PLC. When playing music like “Gundul-Gundul Pacul” needed a control and data processing of musical notation that will be played by the robot.
