Energy-efficient dynamic resource control for buffer-aided hybrid sensor networks

Energy-efficient dynamic resource control problem in buffer-aided hybrid sensor networks is investigated, where each sensor with one buffer is introduced for data storage. The considered problem is formulated as a stochastic optimization problem, which jointly considers the quality-of-service requirements and dynamic characteristics. The Lyapunov optimization theory is applied to transform the intractable stochastic optimization problem into a tractable deterministic optimization problem, which can be further decomposed into two separate subproblems. A dynamic resource control algorithm is proposed to efficiently solve the original stochastic optimization problem. Finally, we conduct simulations to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm and provide some insights.
