Analysis on assignment balance of store staff by multistage queue model

The provision of services and products (hereinafter, ”services, etc.”) at various stores is carried out in the flow of 1) selection of services, 2) order (order receipt), 3) accounting, 4) provision of services. As each process may be waiting for orders or waiting for accounting, the provision of services etc. at stores can be thought of as a multistage queue model. In this paper, we analyzed using the queueing model in order to appropriately assign the staff according to the arrival status of customers and the order contents. In addition to assuming a queue for each process, consider a business style that dynamically changes whether to provide accounting and services etc. at the same time or division of labor as a coffee shop according to the order contents. Recently, orders can now be done with mobile devices, but also congestion in stores arising from it will be analyzed. As a result, we found that the assignment to divide a part of the job shortens the waiting time. In addition, when ordering on a mobile device, not only is the order itself crowded, but also the waiting time becomes longer due to not doing job division.
