Development of a smart controller for hybrid net metering

This study implemented a hybrid net metering technology that will help limit the power consumed from the grid and maximize the usage of renewable energy, i.e., solar energy. The main objective of the study is to design a prototype on a small scale basis that controls and monitors the usage of power consumed by the load using a hybrid system. The development of hybrid system provided a significant change when it was implemented. Data gathered through the thirty-day test show the power decrement from the load. The monthly consumption of the load will drop by 16.69% and if the researcher will account the surplus energy that will be collected throughout the month and deduct it to the monthly consumption of the load that will be an approximate 10% drop also. The researchers were able to conclude that the total savings of the system will be almost equal to 26.69%.
