Diffraction field of uniformly excited elastic wave beams as the superposition of Gaussian beams

On the basis of the parabolic approximation the spreading of uniformly excited (on the aperture) elastic wave beams is investigated. The method of presentation of the excitation as a superposition of Gaussian beams is used. The effect of the nearfield oscillation of the amplitude and phase of the elastic wave beams is accounted for.
