The research of space vector modulation in matrix converter with perspective of three-level

Traditional space vector modulation of the matrix converter is an evolution of the two-level inverter, whose vectors are represented by the input phase abc. This paper presents a new modulation strategy with perspective of three-level, which divides the input voltage into 6 intervals according to the voltage magnitude and utilizes the three-level modulation in fictitious inverter. Using this method, the representation of obtained basic vectors is not the input phase but the electrical level pon. In the paper, we analyzes the position and the move locus of 27 basic vectors with the high and low level in voltage-vectors space and current-vector space, calculates the effective duty ratio time. While, because the voltage level of this method is relatively clear, the new modulation strategy is prone to get an optimal modulation for different goals, such as the range of modulation ratio, the safe commutation, the switching loss and the common-mode voltage reduction. So the space vector modulation with perspective of three-level has very broad application prospects.
