Optimal methodology for the inverter output current in LCL inductive power transfer systems

The LCL compensated inductive power transfer (IPT) system is investigated in this paper, being influenced by harmonics in the output voltage of the inverter, the fundamental harmonic approximation analysis cannot describe the output current of the inverter accurately. Analysis of output current in the inverter is studied considering the effect of high-order harmonics. The simplification of the compensation network helped establish the expression of the current effective value. Furthermore, the paper compares the output current of the inverter with different conduction angle, the inverter output current effective value for the conduction angle 120° is lower than the other case. Finally, a 100W prototype converter is built, experimental results are in very good with the topological analysis and optimization method.
