On-line partial discharge monitoring of HV components

Partial discharge (PD) measurements are an important tool to assess the condition of the insulation of high-voltage systems. Preferably, these measurements are done on-line during regular operation. This paper gives an overview of developments and experiences with online PD measurements in The Netherlands on turbine generators, transformers and switchgear.
