The use of planar silica waveguide technology in quantum cryptography systems

Planar silica interferometers are used in a quantum cryptography system for the first time and demonstrate the feasibility of an integrated optic approach to secure key transmission. The integrated interferometers offer performance which is comparable to that obtained using similar all fibre systems.
