Ion bombardment of organic materials and its potential application

The effects of ion bombardment on the structure, composition and properties of organic solids are generally reviewed. Special attention is paid to polymers and polymer films. Radiation-induced modification of physical properties such as mechanical properties, rheological properties, optical and electrical properties are discussed. Modification of a polymer surface property such as wettability is considered. The effects of low energy ion bombardment of polymers and related materials are concisely mentioned.
