Statistical analysis of the occurrences of mstids observed by all-sky imager in low magnetic latitude

This research identified the occurrence of Medium-Scale Traveling Ionospheric disturbances (MSTIDs) during the ascending solar activity year 2010–2013 using the All-Sky Imager (ASI) mounted on Sirindhorn Observatory, Chiang Mai Thailand (18.8° N, 98.9° E, 13° dip latitude) to study the mechanism of the generation of irregularities in the ionosphere at low magnetic latitudes. The occurrences of MSTIDs in Chiang Mai follow the pattern of solar activity. Seasonal variations showed the appearance of MSTIDs higher during the local summer, the rate of occurrence of the month from November to January is 16.27% and is the highest of all four seasons. While the incidence rate in the 20:00–22:00 LT (pre-midnight) is the highest of the three divisions of time interval, then decreased from pre to post-midnight, and back up towards morning. MSTIDs southward and southwestward movements are most frequently observed in Chiang Mai station during 2010–2013.
