Low-voltage 0.5–3GHz radio receiver for multiband cellular applications

In this paper, we present a low-voltage receiver capable of operating from 0.5-3GHz. The single-stage receiver is designed in TSMC 65nm technology, and is capable of operating at supply voltages of 0.6-1.2V. It is matched to a differential impedance of 100Ω, with an input reflection coefficient that is better than -10dB over the desired frequency range. A g_m-boosting loop based on a class-AB transconductor allows very good linearity and flicker noise performance. The overall receiver exhibits a noise figure (NF) of 6.6dB, an output-referred IP3 of +23.5dBm and a gain of 37.4dB, while consuming 1.35mA from 1.2V power supply at 0.9GHz.
