Advanced spectral diagnostics to study electrical discharges in dense fluids

Breakdown, at least in point-plane geometry, is the result of inception and propagation of pre-breakdown phenomena called "streamers". The purpose of the present investigation is a spectroscopic measurement of the essential plasma parameters, i.e. the gas temperature and the neutral particle and electron densities.
