Enhanced single-leg LC matrix converter by switched capacitor and LC filter

Paper deals with analysis and modeling of a new type of single-phase supplied single leg LC matrix converter (SLLC MxC) with two phase outputs. Its schematic arrangement consists of one-leg half-bridge matrix converter, network with a neutral point, LC filters, switched capacitor and passive or active load. As the harmonic analysis of the voltage of both phases gives a very high value of total harmonic distortion (roughly 86 %), the current waveforms should be improved by using of serial LC filter - which brings much lesser value, acceptable for the application. Switching capacitors and LC filter make it possible to use such an SLLC MxC converter for a controlled drive. The simulation is resulting in a recommendation for the fair and right design of the converter and demands to single- or two-phase input supply voltage, respectively, under passive R-L or motoric load.
