Cosimulation of ansys simplerer and MATLAB/Simulink

The cosimulation concept of Ansys Simplorer and MATLAB/Simulink program environments is presented on a case study of an electric drive. General program descriptions are given along with the step-by-step procedure of cosimulation preparation. Results, obtained by simulation in Simplorer and cosimulation are practically identical and confirm suitability of both analysis approaches. Comments and discussion on user experience are given, focusing on usability of both programs. Simulink has a modern design and a huge component library, while Simplorer is more appropriate for circuit design. Concerning plotting of results and data post-processing, Simulink and MATLAB are superior. Cosimulation concept has strong advantages over using each program individually.
