Lightning protection for wireless telecommunication transceiver facilities (WiTF)

A great deal of wireless telecommunication transceiver facility (WiTF) equipment is installed outdoors, on towers, tall buildings, and the like, where exposure to lightning is a concern. A determination of how this equipment is protected from a lightning exposure must be assessed. Does the structure provide protection? Do the power and communication lines require surge protection devices? This paper explores lightning protection schemes for wireless telecommunication transceiver facilities (WiTF).
