Investigation of Money Laundering and Extremism Indicators Relationship

In the article, for the first time, the regionalization of extremist materials and its relation to money laundering regionalization are studied on the example of 83 subjects of Russian Federation on reliable initial data. Using the standard toolkit, it has been investigated that such a connection is not essential, indicators of extremist materials are loosely associated with indicators of money laundering, which suggests that the link between the financing of extremism and money laundering should be sought in other areas. Such insignificance can be explained by different attitudes of criminal communities, so, it is worth noting, the role of such sources of financing extremism as Hawala.
