Optimization Design of High-Speed Motorized Spindle Control System

The performance of high-speed motorized spindle will directly affect the overall performance of high-speed machine tools, such as machining precision, processing strength and efficiency, vibration and noise, lifetime and so on. As one of the key R&D items of the motorized spindle design, motor control system is a nonlinear and strong coupling system. Based on the analysis of the control system of high-speed motorized spindle, this paper introduced the motor selection methods, comprehensively analyzed and compared various commonly used motor control strategies, and studied the impact of various strategies on the overall performance of the motorized spindle and mutual coupling relationship behinds. Finally, this paper discussed the comprehensive evaluation mechanism of high-speed motorized spindle optimization design, and took vibration and noise control as an example to illustrate how to achieve best overall performance for a particular application area, which has good implementation value.
