A Software for Numerically Calculating and Simulating Plume Infrared Radiation

In order to calculate plume infrared radiation conveniently, a software for numerically calculating and simulating plume infrared radiation was developed. Firstly, in the Visual Studio 2008 development environment, the software user interface was created. Secondly, the numerical methods for calculating radiative luminance of the non-gray medium were analyzed. Thirdly, the infrared radiation of a cylindrical plume was calculating by using the infinite volume method. And the results of spectral radiative luminance, spectral radiative intensity and band radiative intensity were obtained and their data could be saved in files. Finally, according to the results, the curves of the spectral radiative luminance, spectral radiative intensity and band radiative intensity were plotted; and the gray images were obtained by simulating the space distribution of the plume band radiative intensity. Under the same condition, the results obtained by using the software was coincident with the results obtained by using Matlab. It showed that the key tasks of numerically calculating and simulating plume infrared radiation could both be operated correctly by using the software.
