The Stability Test of Sandbags at the Closure Gap of Embankment Engineering under the Flow Action

In many existing embankment projects, sandbags have been widely used for dike construct, but rarely used for blocking the closure gap. A embankment project is located in the muddy coast, which use the riprap to plugging the closure gap cost high for lack of stone nearby, in order to explore the possibility and safety of sandbags for blocking the closure gap, the stability test of sandbags under the flow action is carried out, and the critical hydraulic condition of sandbags under different elevation of closure gap is obtained, which provide a scientific basis for blocking the closure gap of the project.
