First search for axions of mass 110 μeV using milliKelvin cooled 26.6 GHz microwave resonator

We present the first search of axions at 110μeV by implementing a milliKelvin cooled 26.6 GHz Microwave Resonator with a low noise HEMT amplifier read out (aka the ORGAN Path finder experiment). Also, we consider the design of a haloscope experiment (ORGAN) to probe for axions over the 50 to 200 μev range. The motivation for this search is to perform the first direct test of a result, which claims a possible axion signal at these frequencies. There are many technical issues and optimizations that must be considered in the design of a high mass axion haloscope. We discuss the current status as well as its future.
