Improved DC bus voltage regulation for a DC distribution system using quasi Y source converter

The renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and fuel cell sources has widely used in the smart gird to reduce the power loss in the conventional central generation. However, these sources usually operated at low output voltage levels. This paper proposes single phase bidirectional inverter is used for voltage regulation which gives less voltage ripple. Proposed quasi - Y source converter has many advantages of available continuous input current, improved boost ratio and simple topology. It draws continuous current from the source which is required for many renewable sources. The existence of two built-in DC-current-blocking capacitors connected in series with transformer windings prevents the transformer core from saturation. The quasi -Y source converter gives high voltage gain even for small duty cycle. To protect under/over voltage incremental conductance algorithm has been proposed. The system is designed using MATLAB software and its results were discussed.
