Performance evaluation of photovoltaic module at various soiling condition

Photovoltaic industries are striving to meet the modern day's energy demand. Dust and Pollution affects electrical performances and reduces the life of PV module. Over a long process of time dust and debris accumulates and blocks the total solar radiation entering inside the panel. As a result of which efficiency of the module decreases. Even snow and ice deposition on Photovoltaic module reduces total power output. There are many factors on which dust deposition depends some are like angle of tilt, orientation of the panel facing wind or opposite, rainfall, humidity, wind and surrounding environment. This paper mostly highlights the influence of various types of dust on the panel performance. Three different types of dust are taken like sand, clay, and dust mixture. It is found that the capture loss of dust mixture is more than that of other case. Under ideal case clean panel is having almost negligible capture loss. Efficiency of the pv module decreases with the deposition of dust and its is seen that among the various types of dust clay is having least efficiency of 9%.
