Improved nonisolated bidirectional DC-DC converter with high voltage gain for PV hybrid power systems

This paper presents a nonisolated bidirectional DC-DC converter with four switches. The converter structure also consists of two inductors and capacitors. Because of this simple structure the control of the circuit is easy. This converter has larger gain than the conventional cascaded bidirectional buck/boost converter (CCBC) in step up mode, although the gain is reduced in step down mode. Moreover the use of synchronous rectifiers enhances the efficiency. A detailed analysis of the converter is presented in this paper. To validate the design procedure and performance of the proposed converter simulation is performed.
