Exploiting the non-uniformity for circularly polarized antenna arrays at ku-band

This research presents a design approach of circularly polarized non-uniform antenna arrays at Ku-Band. The design process is based on the optimization of the antenna locations constrained by different minimum spacing among the elements with uniform amplitudes. It is presented a design example of 16 circularly polarized patch antennas at 17GHz. The obtained results show the effects of non-uniform locations in the return losses, axial ratio and side lobe level.
