Interwoven feeding networks for limited-scan phased array systems

A multi-port phased-array feeding network with each phase shifter feeding all of the antenna elements is proposed. The network creates a sinc-like current distribution over the array which results in a box-car like element pattern. This element pattern is then used to suppress the unwanted grating lobes. The passive network coefficients and the inter-element spacing is used to control the width of the scan region.
