Abstract:

Exchange of navigational data is nowadays one of the most important problems influencing safety of navigation. Information from own sensors on ship are more often supplemented with external information. All these data have to be integrated and harmonized. The works on interoperability of spatial data ashore, ended with Spatial Data Infrastructure concept. The paper presents a proposal of using SDI concept, known from INSPIRE for enhancing marine navigational data exchange. The idea of ship's SDI node is presented, as well as concept of data and service model in the node.
