This article consists of a collection of slides from the author's conference presentation. Some of the specific areas/topics discussed include: differential-mode: desired operation common-mode: coherent interference that affects two or more elements of a network; radiated signals coupled equally to both lines; an offset from signal commonly created in the driver circuit, or a ground differential between the transmitting and receiving locations. parasitic elements: a unintended circuit element that is possessed by an electrical component; and mutual inductance, stray capacitance.
