Analiysis of typical ground clutter statistical characteristics

In order to obtain more understanding about the regularity of ground clutter distribution, two types of measuring data about grass and soil have been taken in the Object Spectrum Characteristic Laboratory. This paper provided an analysis of the amplitude statistics of these data using Lognormal, Weibull, Gamma, Exponential and Rayleigh distribution. Their goodness-of-fit carried out by Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) test after the estimation of the distribution parameters. The results show that with the grazing angle increased, scattering coefficient also increased, but hold the line varied from frequency. The scattering coefficient of grass and soil obey Weibull distribution in different grazing angles, and they cannot be distinguished by the distribution characteristics.
