Modified Evidence Combination Method Based on Pignistic Probability Distance and Uncertainty Degree

In fusing highly conflicting bodies of evidence, Dempster's rule may derive counterintuitive results. In order to deal with this problem, a novel combination approach is proposed. Pignistic probability distance and uncertainty degree, both of which indicate the quality of the body of evidence from different aspect, are used to determine the weights of the bodies of evidence. Then, by applying Dempster's rule to combine the weighted averaged body of evidence, the final results are obtained. Example shows that this presented method has better performance both in convergence speed and focusing degree than some other combination approaches.
