Quality assessment model for shipping data sources of the Yangtze River

Promotion of the shipping informatization for the Yangtze River increased the amount of shipping data sources for the Yangtze River. Quality assessment for data sources is a basic issue of data quality management. Considering knowledge of the professional field and users' data needs would make results of quality assessment have better availability. This article constructed a quality assessment system for shipping data sources of the Yangtze River with respect to the actual situation of shipping data sources of the Yangtze River, and put forward a quality assessment model for shipping data sources of the Yangtze River. The model combined users' subjective needs with the amount of objective information of data to determine factor weights for quality assessment, and simultaneously considered the subjective judgment for data sources in the assessment process. Through the verification of actual examples, evaluation results of this quality assessment model had better credibility than results of purely objective evaluation.
