Release 11 Further Enhanced ICIC: Transceiver Processing

In this chapter, we discuss the Further enhanced Inter‐Cell Interference Coordination (FeICIC) techniques considered in LTE‐Advanced Release 11. We first introduce the target deployment scenario, which is the same macro–pico deployment scenario as in Release 10, and highlight the issues that need to be resolved. We then explain the further enhancements of Release 10 eICIC for the macro–pico deployment scenario, including techniques for CRS interference cancellation, weak cell detection, and reduced power ABS.
