Credit taken for simulation system used in aircraft type certification

In aircraft type certification, simulation system is used for airworthiness demonstration in lieu of real flight test in certain scenarios, and credit needs to be taken for the simulation system to validate it is capable of representing the characteristics of the airplane under certification. The general requirement and approaches for simulation credit taken is discussed. Typical simulation tasks are analyzed, the scope and requirement, as well as the fidelity evaluation method and criteria for simulation fidelity evaluation is established based on the correlation level defined in this paper. Key elements as well as data required by airworthiness authority for the simulation system credit taken are also figured out.
