Calculation of surge attenuation in filters

Some standards set an attenuation of voltage pulses in uninterrupted power systems (UPS) and protection devices. These equipment have to be tested in an accredited laboratory for a compliance check. The proposed equivalent circuit gives the possibility to calculate attenuation beforehand. Results of computer simulation of surge propagation in LC-filters help to choose a filter for protection devices.
