Optimization of the parameters of magnetic system for linear magnetoelectric drive

The paper considers the solution of the optimal design of the magnetic system linear magnetoelectric drive for testing visco-elastic properties of elastomers. The general approach to the optimal design of magnetoelectric drive requires taking into account the complex factors determining parameter settings that would satisfy different optimality criteria. While developing devices for analyzing the rheological characteristics of visco-elastic materials, the most stringent requirements for creating operating force on the pressure rod, regulated by testing ASTM standard, should be met. Therefore, in the case of design calculation of the magnetoelectric drive, providing the solution of the optimization problem, the initial data are output parameters, i.e. the value of traction on the anchor rod. Configuration of the magnetic system, geometrical dimensions and material of the permanent magnet and magnetic circuit, winding and other data parameters under which the best value of the traction means can be realized are the subject to calculation. The best of the many alternatives of the magnetic drive system structural design should be regarded one that implements the specified technical requirements and satisfies certain optimality criterion.
